# Contacts

> Persistent people records across inbound and outbound — history, digests, and groups for follow-up and outreach.

**Contacts** (Calls) is the people layer for the phone desk. Inbound callers and outbound reminder recipients resolve to records with history, so subsequent conversations continue from prior context.

## Capabilities

* Resolve returning **inbound** callers with prior context
* Target **outbound** reminders to the correct recipients
* Surface open loops — priority contacts, unpaid balances, incomplete bookings
* Build groups for Voice Desk Sequences and outreach
* Bulk-clean stale records

Enable **auto-update Contacts** in [Automations](/product/voice-desk/automations) so Recents and Contacts stay aligned after each call.
